From the moment we arrived, the team at White Lion Safaris made us feel like family. Our PH, Francois, was simply outstanding. We spent countless hours together sharing hunting stories, talking about our faith, laughing until our sides hurt, and building what I know will be a lifelong friendship. The memories we made together are every bit as valuable as the animals we pursued.

God truly blessed this hunt with an unforgettable harvest. I was fortunate enough to take both a beautiful white and black springbok, a big old warrior of a warthog, and an ostrich—which was honestly one of the most exciting and challenging hunts I’ve ever experienced! Those birds are far tougher than most people realize.
I was also blessed with a gorgeous old Nyala, one of my favorite African species, and to top it all off, an absolute giant Cape Eland bull that unofficially scored Gold with SCI. We’ll have him officially measured later, but regardless of the final score, he’s a once-in-a-lifetime animal that I’ll always treasure.

One of the most unique experiences of the trip came when we had the opportunity to assist with darting and relocating two Cape buffalo bulls. Standing just feet away from these incredible animals while helping with their conservation and relocation was absolutely humbling. Seeing their sheer size, strength, and power up close is something I’ll never forget. It was an experience very few people ever get to have.
As amazing as the hunting was, the highlight of the trip wasn’t an animal at all.
Francois also runs a charity that supports local children’s homes. We were honored to donate two of our animals, and White Lion Safaris generously donated the value of the meat so every dollar could go directly toward helping the children.
Together, we were able to fill shopping carts with groceries, snacks, and ice cream for a girls’ home. Even more incredible, there are enough funds remaining for them to return to the store several more times as supplies run low. We were told what we provided could help feed these girls for nearly a year.
Getting to personally deliver the food, meet these incredible young ladies, and witness their gratitude was something I’ll carry with me forever. It was a powerful reminder that hunting isn’t just about trophies—it’s about stewardship, relationships, giving back, and using the blessings we’ve been given to bless others.
