/Our Team

Ricus de Villiers
Owner / Operator
After being introduced to hunting by my father at age 5, I had a passion for wildlife, hunting and the outdoors.
This sculpted the foundation of a dream and desire to become a conservationist and professional hunter in Africa.
In the year 2004, this dream became a reality when I founded White Lion Safaris as a hunting and photographic safari operation right here in beautiful South Africa

Nelia de Villiers
Admin / Logistics
Born a city girl, I didn’t know an Impala from a Nyala before I married Ricus. I am pleased to say that things have improved since then I am the ‘Jill of all trades’ at White Lion Safaris’, making sure that the staff have what they need to do their job and helping out with admin and supply logistics. When I am not driving Mom’s taxi, I make unique jewellery from spent bullet casings. I am truly blessed to be a part of a team dedicated to making clients part of the White Lion family!

Jaco Wessels
Professional Hunter
He loves the outdoors, wildlife, long range shooting and the company of good friends around campfires.
Started working for White Lion Safaris in 2014 and still going strong, he loves what he does and really enjoys guiding clients and showing them our beautiful diverse country, South Africa.

Curtis Sagrys
Professional Chef
Chef Curtis, born 19th July 1990. In Kimberley, completed chef school 2013.
He was lucky enough to be 1 of 2 chefs to be chosen of a class of 21 to represent South-Africa in Yangon Miyanmar Asia at a food gala.
He worked at multiple 4 and 5-star restaurants and hotels across South Africa.
He joined the White Safaris Team in 2015 and enjoys serving their international clients favoured local dishes.

Matt keever
U.S Operations Manager
Hunting Africa is a huge passion of mine, I started in my late 20’s as a continuation and growth in my love for hunting game in the United States from the age of 5.
I grew up chasing Whitetail and dove hunting until one day I took the big leap to head to Africa where I first met the White Lion Family.
I became the U.S. Operations Manager and my role is to assist any of our U.S. clients in every step of the way to fulfilling their dream Safari.

Leon Ressouw
U.S Marketing Agent
In 2013, Leon founded Due South Expeditions and through a partnership between White Lion Safaris and Due South Expeditions has helped numerous non-profit fundraisers raise critical funds for their causes, and also promotes the importance of responsible and sustainable hunting as an important conservation tool in Africa.
